The end of the year as we know it

019 was a great year for Teamy. Well, that’s kind of an understatement when talking about the year we were born. It was the year Teamy first saw the light of day, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

But since day one up until today, many more good things have happened.

Here’s a recap of our 2019 achievements

We have been making significant changes to our booking process that give both partners and customers more flexibility. There is now a messaging system pre and post booking; a proposal request posting and the possibility for partners to send proposals to events that were matched with their service. All together, these features translate into more flexibility through a more open communication.

We upgraded our search form to deliver more accurate results, by including budget, search by region, the average age of participants and length of activity. This way, results are narrowed down to what customers are really looking for.

Our supplier base has increased to more than 100 partners, which now include Secret City Trails, Breathe Portugal, Cooking in Lisbon and many other amazing companies. As for our activities, we now have more than 200 workshops and other team activities.

We were the winners of Tourism Explorers in Lisbon — the biggest Portuguese program for the creation and acceleration of startups in the tourism sector. The program is the result of a partnership between Turismo de Portugal, the country’s competent authority on tourism, and Fábrica de Startups, a startup accelerator and incubator. We had the opportunity to learn a lot during all the bootcamps and connect with a lot of inspiring partners and participants.

And last, but most definitely not least, we found a home! We are now settled in Beta-i with the Humaniaks team that kindly offered to share their office space, their plants, and their library!

As we mentioned right in the beginning, it was a pretty great year.

But as the legendary football coach Sepp Herberger used to say, “nach dem Spiel ist vor dem Spiel” (or “after the game is before the game”), which is to say that even though this year is coming to an end, we are already looking ahead at 2020. And we already have some things planned.

2020 sneak preview

We are going to launch our Premium Service for companies who need that little extra support and less accounting hassle.

We are introducing a new way to send and receive proposals through our product and we are making significant changes to our suppliers’ dashboard.

We also want to triple our supplier and activity base. 2020 will be all about bringing you more activities, more venue spaces and more workshops. To achieve this, we are adding more talent to our team, specifically in the areas of events and marketing, to be able to reach more customers and spoil our existing ones.

And since we are all about activities, we are launching a brand new one of our own. Introducing: Teamy Talks, a series of events where we’ll discuss team engagement best practices with customers, partners and whoever wants to join in on the conversation.

What are your plans for 2020? We don’t know about you, but we’re very excited about what lies ahead.
