Outdoor team building activities for the Spring

“Spring is the time of plans and projects.”

- Leo Tolstoy in Anna Karenina

Spring has got us feeling inspired here at Teamy. We have dedicated these rainy days to decluttering our homes, colour coding our books and rearranging our drawers. Marie Kondo would be proud. But we are now ready to enjoy some time in the great outdoors, breathing in the fresh air and basking in the sun.

What about you? Spring presents a great opportunity to organize team building events outside, without the risk of your co-workers melting away under the Summer sun. We have selected some of the best activities you can sign up for during the next months.

Kayaking and snorkeling in Arrábida

Taking your team out on the water is an experience they’ll never forget, whether they’re complete beginners or experienced kayakers. This activity takes place in Portinho da Arrábida, one of the most beautiful, (not so much anymore) hidden gems just outside of Lisbon. Even your not-so-sports-inclined employees will enjoy the day, because you really can’t beat those surroundings.

Try Scuba-Diving

If you’re feeling adventurous, try taking it to the next level. In this case, under the sea level. Also set off the coast of Portinho da Arrábida, this activity is a great chance for your team to try something new to most of them.

Stand Up Paddle in Arrábida

No, we still haven’t moved on from this gorgeous little corner of Portugal. It just has so much to offer! Another activity is stand up paddle. The great thing about it is that it’s suitable for all ages and skill-levels. It also offers good photo opportunities, just make sure to capture people when they fall.

Dolphin Watching

This is a fan favourite activity, because dolphins. Who doesn’t love them? I can also fully vouch for it; I’ve done it before and it brought tears to my eyes. No joke. Plus, it’s a fun way to enjoy some time on the water and share an outdoor activity without any physical strain.

Climbing Experience

If being by the water is not your thing, then we suggest this rock climbing activity. It’s great for team building, since by teaching every member of your team to climb the steepest of cliffs in a controlled and safe environment, they’ll learn firsthand just how far they can go when they work together.

Picnic in Adega Mayor

Enjoy some time outdoors simply by sharing a meal with your team. This picnic is a very special one, because it takes place in Portugal’s only signature wine cellar designed by the famous architect Siza Vieira. The day starts with a journey through the winery and finishes with a picnic accompanied by locally produced wines.
