here’s no denying that Lisbon is the European place to be right now. The weather is nice, the city’s infrastructure has been improving, there are cultural events for all tastes, and the food scene is amazing. For companies, the Portuguese capital has become a business haven, especially for startups, with incubators found all over the city that are supported by the local government. All this, with Lisbon’s unique light cast over the seven hills that make it up.

Whether your business is located in Lisbon, or you’re bringing your team over for a meeting, a conference, or a special team building event, these are the top ten venues you want to get your hands on.

Suspenso

‍
Suspenso is located in one of Lisbon’s most traditional neighbourhoods, Alfama, just a few steps away from the castle and lots of Fado venues. The original building is from 1837 and has remained almost intact. It is made up of 3 different rooms with an industrial vibe to them: a foundry, an old theatre and a garden. Each space is ideal for different events such as large conferences, team dinners or other activities.

Pateo Alfacinha

‍
Located in Ajuda, Pateo Alfacinha is a great option for any kind of event, big or small, up to 1000 attendees. It offers several different indoor and outdoor spaces, plus it has the added bonus of a specialized team that can organize your event for you. All you need is to show up with your team or your guests at the desired date and everything will be taken care of.

Casa do Alentejo

‍
Casa do Alentejo is one of the most unique and beautiful buildings in the city. The 17th century palace was originally built as the home of an aristocratic family, then became Lisbon’s first casino and today it’s a restaurant. Its interiors are guaranteed to make anyone fall in love with the place, making it the perfect place for a formal team gathering.

Village Underground Lisboa

‍
Village Underground Lisboa is the place to go for the more hipster-trendy business. The space is made up of old busses and containers stacked on each other, that were turned into co-working spaces. It’s ideal for an offsite day to dwell on more creative tasks in a different setting. It has capacity for approximately 140 people.

Lisbon Congress Center

‍
If, on the other hand, you’re hosting a bigger team event or conference, then the Lisbon Congress Center is the place for you. It has a total capacity of around 2500 people, and is comprised of 52 distinct spaces which you can book individually. All of them are perfectly equipped with everything you’ll need for your event. Plus, it has the added bonus of being located by the riverfront and offering beautiful views.

Champalimaud Centre

‍
A couple of kilometers further, you’ll find the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown. The building is the hub of scientific investigation for the Champalimaud Foundation, but parts of the huge riverfront building are rented out to businesses for their team events, conferences, exhibitions or dinners. The Auditorium, for example, boasts a huge oval window offering views of the Tower of Belém, while at the same time being the ideal venue for presentations, conferences or training sessions, with 400 seats.

The Flat

‍
The Flat is located in a four-story house that was turned into one of Lisbon’s most popular event venues. It can welcome up to 150 people while still keeping a homey vibe. It is equipped with a full bar and kitchen, but its crown jewel is the terrace overlooking the city. The Flat is a great option for team building sessions or company parties.

Convento do Beato

‍
Convento do Beato is a 16th century monastery turned event venue. It is located in one of Lisbon’s up and coming areas, also by the riverfront. The building has a capacity for 400 people and boasts a unique construction and architecture, with Portuguese marble details. It is perfect for big business meetings and conferences.

SUD Lisboa

‍
SUD Lisboa is located right at the riverfront, offering stunning views of Lisbon’s iconic bridge. The space is divided into the Terrazza, an outdoor space with a swimming pool, and the Hall, an interior room decorated with luxurious chandeliers. It’s a great option for more formal, corporate events or for an outing with your team, and it has a capacity for 1500 people.

Ministerium

‍
We’re not going to lie, we’re recommending Ministerium Club exclusively for company parties. With a premium location in Lisbon’s Praça do Comércio, the two-story nightclub is the go-to place when you want to host both dinner and a party all in the same space. The ground floor has plenty of room to be turned into a dining hall, and then you just move your team upstairs to show off some dance moves.
